“Confidence comes…

“Confidence comes not from always being right, but from not fearing to be wrong.”
By Peter McIntyre

Well, congratulations all you graduating high school senior’s. You have made it all the way to the beginning of your life. Yes I said beginning because if you ask any adult they will tell you that graduating high school is just the beginning. As your first free summer is coming to an end…you may be asking, now what? Let’s face it a little while ago everyone was looking at you like you were a rock star or had just won the lottery. Your Uncle Sal or Aunt Lucy patted you on the back, saying how proud they are of you.  You probably felt proud at that moment too but now reality is settling in and you may just feel like screaming, “yeah but…BUT…WHAT DO I DO NOW?” The truth is your education isn’t over at graduation…your real education it is just starting and make no mistake you have a lot to learn. Even though you may feel like you have worked hard to get to this point, everything up-til now was like rehearsal before the big play compared to your future. Now it is time for some reality, to step out onto the stage and step up to the next level of your life. Even if you are planning to go to college the next level probably means getting a job to earn some money. Entering the workforce is the ultimate training ground and I am not going to kid you…it can be daunting at best and even downright scary for most but the best way to get past the fear is to have confidence in yourself and just get out there and, to steal a famous phrase, “JUST DO IT”.

It also wouldn’t hurt to prepare yourself for success by reading my book Congratulations, Great Job! It is a quick read and even just reading the summaries at the end of each chapter will help give you an understanding of expectations and a much-needed shot of confidence.
